Black Silk, sterile, non-mutagenic surgical sutures composed of natural silk fibers called fibroin. The sutures elicit a minimal acute inflammatory reaction in tissue, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective issue. The sutures are indicated for use in general soft issue approximation, including use in microsurgery and neurological surgery.
